Celebrate the creativity of young people with Cruinniú na nÓg

Offaly County Council in association with Creative Ireland is presenting its Cruinniú na nÓg programme of events to celebrate the creativity of young people on Saturday week, June 13.

Cruinniú na nÓg is Ireland’s national day of free creativity for children and young people. It celebrates and encourages participation by children and young people in creative activities in their local neighbourhoods and communities.

However, this year things will be done a bit differently with everything going online.

There are 65 events – a mixture of videos and webinars for blended learning with a mixture of local and national creative facilitators. There is a variety of creative channels presented which include everything from drawing workshops, to hip-hop classes, from singalongs to lunchtime concerts, so there should be something for everybody!

Starting on June 6, there will be two weeks of free creative activities for under-18’ and participation will be through online webinars and videos via www.facebook.com/offalylibraries

These activities have been designed to spark interest and encourage inner creativity in children to experience something new and exciting.
