Tullamore's Tolü Makay releases powerful new single
Tullamore soul and pop artist Tolü Makay has released of her powerful new single, entitled 'War' today (April 29).
The brand-new single was inspired by the late Sinéad O'Connor, and her activism through music.
The local singer said the song was her version of 'Zombie' by The Cranberries, as she took inspiration from Sinead's strength and voice.
“Even if you're afraid, it's important to use your voice for yourself, and for others,” Tolü said ahead of the songs release. “I needed to make my own version."
The singer-songwriter extended her thanks to all those who brought the songs to life.
"I have many people to thank," Tolü said. "I must say a massive thank you to Carey Willetts who produced this incredible song with me! I couldn’t be more proud. Thank you Daniel Moyler on mix and Coda Mastering on masters!
"Thank you Nuala for giving me your space while I came back to finish the production! I can’t thank you enough."
