RSA 'Check it Fits' service coming to Offaly

Offaly County Childcare Committee is advising parents of young children to avail of the 'Check it Fits' child car seat service when it visits Tullamore on Sunday next, April 27.

The free service, which is an initiative of the Road Safety Authority (RSA) will visit the Baby Moon Baby Shop in Unit 18, Cloncollig Industrial Estate (eircode: R35 XE03) on Sunday next, April 27, between 10am and 4pm.

Pre-booking is not necessary, so parents or guardians are advised to just turn up on the day. Experts will be on hand throughout the dayt to advise on how to fix any problem, demonstrate how to fit the restraint correctly and answer any queries participants might have.

Parents are reminded that it is the law that all children under 150cms or 36kgs must use a child car seat appropriate to their weight and height. In Ireland as many as 54% of car seats are incorrectly fitted which can lead to serious injury or even death in a collision.

The Check it Fits service is a full-time, nationwide, free expert service which aims to put parent’s and guardian’s minds at ease that their child’s car seat is safely and securely fitted in their car.
