Gardai seek witnesses to Offaly hit and run

Tullamore Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a hit and run incident that occurred in Pollagh.

Investigating Gardaí are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage to assist the ongoing investigation.

As part of follow-up operations in the area, two vehicles were seized on Sunday under Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act 1961:

A BMW, which was directly involved in the hit and run incident, was seized for having no tax, no insurance, and no valid NCT.

An Audi, not connected to the hit and run, was separately seized for being untaxed for 598 days.

Both vehicles were also found to have defective tyres.
