Offaly Climate & Biodiversity Action Group hold inaugural meeting

Offaly Climate & Biodiversity Action Group held their inaugural meeting on Thursday, April 3, in St. Mary's Youth and Community Centre Tullamore.

There was a good turn out with attendees from all corners of the county. There were many positive conversations focused on the direction the group should take in the coming months and how it can protect biodiversity and collaborate for climate action.

Joe Stewart, an attendee at the meeting, said: "It was great to see so many people express interest, share knowledge, experience and to begin building a community where people can share ideas to establish a local network of enthusiasts who want to collaborate and focus on action."

"The action group will not be politically aligned," said Gaelan Elliffe. "There is quite a lot of good work being done around the county, and if we work together, we can protect Offaly’s biodiversity and promote positive local steps for meaningful climate action."
