Sacred Heart's All-Girls Robotics Team to compete at World Championships in Texas
The Sacred Heart School's All-Girls Robotics Team, called The Steminists, are set to compete at the VEX IQ Robotics World Championships.
The Tullamore team became the first ever All Female team to win the VEX IQ All-Ireland Robotics Competition, and are now preparing to travel to Dallas, Texas in May of this year.
The team includes five students aged between 12 and 14, including students Emily Thunder, Jasmine Matsushita, Rachel Ebenezer, Alice Duffy, and Olivia Hoey.
The Steminists demonstrated outstanding skill in engineering, coding, design, strategy, and teamwork - proving that the future of STEM is female.
The team’s dedication, creativity, and problem-solving skills have propelled them to the world stage, where they will proudly represent Ireland against top robotics teams from around the globe.
Their success reflects Sacred Heart School’s commitment to STEM education, fostering a culture where young women are empowered to innovate, build, and lead.
Representing Ireland on the world stage is an incredible honour, but it comes with significant costs. The trip to Dallas, Texas, requires funding of €30,000 for travel, accommodation, and competition expenses.
To ensure that The Steminists can showcase their talent and inspire future generations of girls in STEM, the Sacred Heart School is seeking support from individuals, businesses, and organisations that believe in empowering young women in technology.
To support The Steminists on their journey to Dallas and be part of a movement that champions young women in STEM, and proves that girls can excel in STEM and compete at the highest level, you can donate to their GoFund Me campaign at https://gofund.me/1aa566d2, while any business enquiries can be directed to c.faherty@shstullamore.ie
