Offaly community centres benefit from over €585,000 in funding
Local community centres will benefit from over €585,000 in funding as part of the Community Centres Investment Fund announced today (Tuesday).
The announcement has been welcomed by Fine Gael TD, John Clendennen who said that the funding will help community centres in Offaly carry out building renovations and enhance amenities.
“I am delighted to see funding of €588,530 for community centres in Offaly. I want to thank the volunteers who work so hard to facilitate activities in our community centres.
"This funding will result in community facilities being more sustainable and accessible, so that they can be enjoyed by all.
“Community centres play an essential role in bringing our communities together. Whether it’s local meetings, celebrations, or classes for children or retired people, our community centres in Offaly have always been a central point in every town and village for people to come together.
“Communities across Offaly will now be empowered to make the changes they need to their community centres to ensure they are up to a high standard.
“I am particularly delighted to see funding has been made available for eight worthy projects across our county. I know many volunteers within those communities who work tirelessly maintaining these facilities. This funding will go a long way in ensuring these local centres can continue to provide vital services and be a welcoming space for people of all ages.
“This funding will make our towns and villages better places to live, work, and raise a family.
“This funding is aimed at the heart of our communities in Offaly, and I look forward to seeing the completed works”, Deputy Clendennen said.
