Offaly trio on GAA's hurling 'team of the week' after defeating Dublin

A memorable Croke Park outing for the Offaly hurlers on Sunday saw Johnny Kelly's side pull off an upset by defeating Dublin.

Dan Ravenhill's long-range free in added time was the difference between the sides, as the Faithful men turned in a terrific display to outscore Dublin 0-27 to 1-23.

Three Offaly players have been rewarded for their exploits by being named on the GAA.ie hurling 'team of the week'.

Full back and team captain Ciaran Burke, centre half back Donal Shirley, and full forward Oisín Kelly were named on the 'team of the week'.

Oísin Kelly, who was Offaly's top scorer with five points from play on Saturday, has also been nominated for the hurling 'player of the week' accolade, alongside Wexford’s Lee Chin and Tipperary’s Darragh McCarthy.

The 'player of the week' is selected from public votes on the GAA's official Instagram page, and voting will close at 10am tomorrow (Tuesday).
