Colin Dunne Memorial 5K Race to take place in Mucklagh

Locals are being invited to take part in the Colin Dunne Memorial 5K Race which will be held in Mucklagh early next month.

The annual event brings the community together in memory of Colin, a beloved local teacher who tragically lost his life while competing in the Barcelona Marathon.

The race raises vital funds for the autism unit at the local school.

It will take place on Sunday, March 2, at 2pm at Mucklagh Community Centre, welcoming both serious athletes and casual participants.

After crossing the finish line, participants can enjoy a well-deserved treat in the school gym, where pizza slices, sandwiches, cakes, and drinks will be available for all.

The race organisers said, “It promises to be a great day and the more people that sign up, the more money we can raise for this brilliant cause!”

Registration is now open, and participants can sign up online at: https://www.popupraces.ie/race/colin-dunne-memorial-5km-2025/
