Tullamore hospital hosts GP study evening

Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore (MRHT) held its first GP Study Evening of 2025 on January 28.

More than 30 medical professionals attended the evening. The speakers included Dr. Damien Ferguson Neurology Consultant, Dr Eoin Bergin Consultant Nephrologist, Dr. Chitra Varghese Respiratory Consultant, Dr Haasaan Pervez Consultant Endocrinologist, Siobhan Hourigan Health and Wellbeing and Ger Walsh Self-Management Support Coordinator for Long-term Health Conditions Midlands Louth Meath CHO.

The study evening was chaired Dr Joanna McGlynn, Medical Clinical Director and Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine, MRHT. The aim of the Study Evening was to bring together those who are making a lasting impact on health and well-being in communities. The gathering enhanced work under way in encouraging seamless, co-ordinated care across primary and specialist settings.

Speaking about the event, Dr. Joanna McGlynn, Medical Clinical Director and Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine said: “We are delighted that so many GP’s joined us for this interactive session. I wish to thank all our colleagues from MRHT who took time out of their busy schedules to prepare valuable presentations and to join us this evening.”
