New café opened in Tullamore hospital
On Monday last, patients, visitors and staff in the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore warmly welcomed the opening of a new coffee shop and seating area on the hospital campus.
Louisea Burke, Interim General Manager, Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore, extended congratulations "to all those who contributed and put significant time and effort towards bringing Zen Cafe to fruition".
"The original hospital coffee dock that existed on the campus was closed during Covid-19 and it has been missed by the local community and hospital staff since. This space is for hospital visitors, patients and staff. It will provide a much needed service and addresses a pressing need within our hospital,” she said.
Óran Murphy, Managing Director of Zenhacker, said: “We are excited to be launching Zen Café in Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore. Zen Café offers barista-quality coffee, locally sourced food, nutritious soups, and freshly made sandwiches in a welcoming atmosphere. We’re proud to bring this fresh approach to Tullamore and hope it will make a positive impact to the hospital community.”
‘Zen Café’ will be available for staff, patients and visitors to the hospital Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm, it is located in the hospital main foyer area, near the main entrance.
