Moate CS to face Maynooth girls with Leinster title at stake

Moate Community School are preparing to take on Maynooth Education Campus in the Lidl Leinster LGFA Schools Junior 'A' Championship final tomorrow (Tuesday), January 14.

The U-16 final will be played at the Coralstown/Kinnegad GAA grounds in Kinnegad with a throw-in time of 12.30pm.

Moate CS booked their place in the final with an emphatic 2-21 to 1-7 victory over FCJ SS, Bunclody in their semi-final played in Portlaoise before Christmas. Alex Kelly, Chloe Malone, Erin Ó Faoláin and Anna Ryan accounted for the Moate CS scores on that occasion.

The Moate CS team is managed by Fidelma Quinn (who was appointed as the school's deputy principal last year) and Amy Hughes. The joint captains are Caulry's Erin Ó Faoláin and Moate's Aine Bracken and, in total, eight clubs are represented on the panel including Offaly clubs St Manchan's and Naomh Ciarán (see full squad below).

Moate CS lost out to Maynooth Education Campus in their Leinster Senior 'A' final last month and will be aiming to turn the tables on their Kildare opponents in Kinnegad tomorrow.
