Five Offaly companies to take part in Showcase next month
Five local companies are among almost 400 exhibitors to take part in Showcase, Ireland's international creative expo, which returns to Dublin's RDS in January.
The five are Heart On My Sleeve; Shannon Bergin Illustration; Whiskey Craft Ltd., Shannonbridge Pottery and Tarbh Clothing company.
Showcase takes place from Sunday, January 19 to Tuesday, January 21 and more than 3,500 visitors from Ireland and overseas are expected to pass through the RDS during the three days of the exhibition.
From humble beginnings in 1975, when the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland first set up the National Crafts Fair, Showcase has grown from being a show for domestic buyers alone to a show where buyers come from over 20 countries.
It started out in the Industries Hall in the RDS in Dublin with just 50 exhibitors in 1975, but the huge year on year growth it has experienced has seen it now take up the four major halls of the RDS with almost 400 exhibitors.
Showcase continues to evolve and attract buyers from all over the world, introducing them to talented Irish exhibitors from all corners of the country.Last year alone, Showcase welcomed more than 3,000 buyers from Ireland and more than 20 other countries, including the UK, North America, Middle East, Asia and Mainland Europe. Independent research shows that the orders generated by buyers to the event since 2015 have grown at an average rate of 18% year on year, and the analysis from Showcase 2024 estimated that the purchasing plans, as reported by visitors to the event, exceeded €20.5m. These figures also indicate the increase in the quality of the buyer now regularly attending the event.
