Clonaslee wheelchair basketball club unveils new sponsored jerseys

The Clonaslee Wheelchair Basketball Club has been presented with a new set of jerseys sponsored by the Tullamore-based tractor dealership, WR Shaw Ltd.

Billy Shaw of WR Shaw Ltd was welcomed to one of the club's recent training sessions, where he presented the new jerseys to the players.

Established in July 2004, Clonaslee Wheelchair Basketball Club provides a platform for individuals with physical disabilities to enjoy the sport of wheelchair basketball.

The club competes annually in the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) league and cup competitions and trains weekly at the Clonaslee Community Centre in Laois.

The club is presently the only senior wheelchair basketball club in the Midland region.

Clonaslee WBC is proud to foster inclusivity by welcoming all participants, including able-bodied individuals, to join the game.

Wheelchair basketball employs a classification system to ensure fairness and create a level playing field for everyone.

Additionally, the IWA competitions are organized as mixed-gender events, and Clonaslee is delighted to have several talented female players among its ranks.

During the visit, Garrett Culliton, Chairman of Clonaslee WBC, warmly introduced Billy Shaw and on behalf of the entire club sincerely thanked him for his invaluable sponsorship.

WR Shaw Ltd, Ireland's largest independent agricultural dealer for tractors and parts, has a rich history spanning over three decades. The company proudly represented the Fiat tractor brand from 1984 until its merger with New Holland in 1992.

Billy expressed his pleasure at being invited to the training session, thanking the club for the warm welcome.

He shared his happiness in supporting the team and wished them great success in all their future endeavours.
