Low temperature warning issued as icy conditions to set in on Tuesday
November started off with some unseasonably mild days, but wintry conditions look set to take hold from tomorrow (Tuesday), with Met Éireann issuing a weather warning for low temperatures nationwide.
The status yellow warning will take effect from 8pm on Tuesday and will remain in place until 10am on Wednesday.
All counties will be affected, with "widespread frost and icy stretches" expected.
Pedestrians and motorists have been warned to expect hazardous conditions on roads and footpaths, with temperatures likely to drop to minus three overnight on Tuesday and into Wednesday.
A snow and ice warning has also been issued tonight (Monday) for five counties: Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Leitrim and Sligo.
