Sinn Féin general election candidate Cllr Aoife Masterson was joined by Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonnell today, November 14, as she opened her new office in a formerly derelict building in Kilbride Plaza, Tullamore.

“I specifically chose a derelict building for my office because we need to bring life back into the town,” said Cllr Masterson.

The Mucklagh native said the building required a total revamp, including new walls, ceilings, and floors.

However, she said she wasn't afraid to “put my money where my mouth is”.

“I signed the lease the week after I got elected,” she said. “It's been a lot of work, but I think it paid off.”

Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald said the office was a great addition to the town.

“The place looks great, doesn't it? Absolutely mighty,” she said.

Ms McDonald added: “It's brilliant to be in Tullamore with the formidable Aoife Masterson. I haave every faith and confidence that Aoife can win this seat.

“We're very very proud to have [her] on the ticket, and I look forward to walking through the gates of Leinster House with [her].”
