'Look up for science' astronomy event to take place in Tullamore Court Hotel
Midlands Science and Midlands Astronomy Club are hosting a unique night-time event in Tullamore Court Hotel on November 14 from 7pm to 9pm.
The event titled 'look up for science' will explore the night’s sky using powerful tools and telescopes.
A short talk will explain some key points in the science of astronomy.
The event includes a discussion from Prof John Eliott of the SETI Post Detection Hub which is based at St Andrew’s University, Scotland.
SETI is the search for extra-terrestrial life and the post detection hub is the organisation responsible for developing how society will respond when we are told at some point in the future that there are other life forms out there in the universe.
All age groups are welcome. Snacks and hot drinks will be provided.
Midlands Science Festival is supported by the Research Ireland Discover Programme as part of national Science Week.
