New weather warning issued for thick fog across Midlands

For the second night running, a weather warning for fog will be in place this evening (Tuesday) for much of the country, including the Midlands counties of Westmeath, Roscommon and Offaly.

Met Éireann said the yellow-level warning will come into effect at 6pm today and will remain in place until 10am tomorrow, Wednesday, morning.

The weather service said the widespread fog would lead to poor visibility and hazardous travelling conditions.

The weather warning will be in effect for 23 of the 26 counties in the Republic of Ireland, with the exceptions being the North West counties of Mayo, Sligo and Donegal.
