JNLR Figures: Pat Kenny remains the most popular show on commercial radio

The latest figures from the JNLR show the Pat Kenny show on Newstalk remains the most popular show on commercial radio, with 241,000 listeners tuning in daily.
Figures showed an increase in listeners for Newstalk, with 508,000 listeners daily, up 42,000 in the last year to make it the second most listened to station in the country.
Newstalk Breakfast with Ciara Kelly and Shane Coleman starts the day for 168,000 listeners while Andrea Gilligan’s Lunchtime Live also proves a popular drop-in for 134,000 listeners
Today FM also saw an increase in listeners, with a weekly reach of 973,000, representing a lift of 14,000 in the last year.
Their top show is the Ian Dempsey show, with 209,000 listeners. The afternoon show hosted by Ray Foley saw an increase to 169,000 listeners.
At RTÉ Radio One which is now reaching 891,000 people on a weekday, Morning Ireland is the most listened to radio programme with 465,000 listeners.
Oliver Callan airing 9-10am Monday-Friday has 338,000 listeners every day, while Today with Claire Byrne is the second most listened to show with 342,000 listeners, an increase of 11,000.
Liveline with Joe Duffy has increased to a listenership of 307,000, while Drivetime has 221,000 people tuning in every evening.
Peter Woods, Head of RTÉ Radio 1 said: “This is a solid book that consolidates and builds on the gains made by Radio 1, and is particularly heartening for Oliver Callan, who is less than 12 months in that slot and backed by a great team. We remain strong across the day and through the weekends for listeners, with Current Affairs, Music and Arts programmes all performing.

At RTÉ 2FM, the most popular show on the station is 2FM Drive with 145,000 listeners.
This is followed by 2FM Breakfast, which has 142,000 listeners.
