Ballycumber pub hosts 'Shave or Wax' in aid of Offaly Down Syndrome Association
Ballycumber pub The Gav Inn will be hosting a 'Shave or Wax' event in aid of Offaly Down Syndrome Association on Saturday, November 30 at 9pm.
Local personality Paul Gavin, who has Down Syndrome, is hosting the event which will see punters stepping up to the challenge of either shaving or waxing their body hair in a bid to raise funds for the worthy charity.
Each participants transformation will symbolise their solidarity with the Down Syndrome community and the commitment to make Offaly a more inclusive place for people with Down syndrome.
"‘Shave or Wax with Paul & Friends’ is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of resilience, community spirit, and the incredible potential of people with Down syndrome,” said Robbie Donnelly, Branch Administrator for Offaly Down Syndrome Association.
"By participating in this unique event, we’re raising vital funds and building a stronger network of support for our members and their families."
The event will also feature raffles, music, and refreshments, creating a lively and family-friendly atmosphere for all who attend.
Funds raised from this event will support Offaly Down Syndrome Association’s wide range of programs and services, which include early intervention, educational support, career training, and social initiatives for people with Down syndrome across all age groups.
These programs are instrumental in helping members of the Down syndrome community lead healthy, fulfilling lives with access to the resources they need to thrive.
