Sacred Heart School presents “Legally Blonde: The Musical”
Following last year’s sold-out production of Chicago, Sacred Heart School is thrilled to bring the vibrant and fun-filled Legally Blonde: The Musical to Esker Arts Centre, Tullamore, from Tuesday, November 5 to Thursday, November 7 at 7.30 pm.
Based on the popular 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon and the novel by Amanda Brown, Legally Blonde: The Musical follows Elle Woods, a determined and stylish sorority girl, on her journey through Harvard Law School. Featuring music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and a book by Heather Hach, this award-winning production is filled with memorable songs, high-energy dance numbers, and a heartwarming story of perseverance, self-discovery, and staying true to oneself.
Audiences will join Elle Woods as she defies expectations, proving that she’s much more than just a blonde in pink. With her loyal aesthetician Paulette and her adorable dog Bruiser by her side, Elle uses her legal smarts to defend fitness queen Brooke Wyndham in a high-profile murder trial, surprising everyone—including herself—with what she’s capable of achieving.
Mr Murphy and Ms Origan are working hard with Sacred Heart School’s talented cast, which includes students from Colaiste Choilm, and progress reports indicate that this musical promises to deliver an unforgettable evening of entertainment for all ages. After last year’s rave reviews for Chicago, the cast and crew are ready to make Legally Blonde another standout success.
To mark the excitement surrounding the upcoming production, the school hosted a special Legally Blonde Day on Friday, September 20, turning the campus pink to celebrate the launch of ticket sales. The entire school gathered in the dining hall for a Legally Blonde-themed fashion runway, where students showcased their best Elle Woods-inspired outfits. Second-year student Margot was crowned the winner for her fabulous ensemble. Even the teachers got involved in the fun with a Bend and Snap competition, with Mr Murphy and Mr Thompson stealing the show. The day, organised by the TY mini-company The Eventers, also featured pink-themed decorations, sweets, and a raffle, creating a buzz of excitement leading up to the musical.
