Man dies while shopping at Lidl Edenderry

A man became ill while shopping at Lidl in Edenderry on Saturday, September 21, before sadly passing away at the store.

Store staff attempted to assist the man after he became ill and also phoned for ambulance and gardai, but the man could not be saved.

A spokesperson for Lidl said, ““Our Edenderry store was closed for a number of hours on Saturday 21st September due to a customer experiencing a medical episode whilst shopping in the store.

“Our store team immediately responded to the incident and contacted emergency services and the Gardaí to assist but, sadly, the customer passed away. Our thoughts are with their family and loved ones.”

The man has not yet been named locally.
