Offaly native is new deputy principal of Coláiste Naomh Cormac
Coláiste Naomh Cormac, in Kilcormac, has announced the appointment of Offaly native Mark Lyons as its new deputy principal.
Mark, who hails from Belmont in the west of the county, holds an Arts degree from Maynooth University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Limerick.
He has also earned a Postgraduate Diploma and a Master's degree in Education Leadership and Management from Maynooth University.
Additionally, he has experience working with Oide, a support service which provides professional development and support to teachers and schools.
Most recently, Mark has been a teacher of Maths and Business in Ard Scoil Chiaráin Naofa, Clara, where he had been actively involved in various extra-curricular activities.
His experience in school leadership and management is extensive, having been appointed as Assistant Principal and Acting Deputy Principal in Clara.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Mark said, "I am delighted to have been appointed Deputy Principal of CNC Kilcormac and look forward to working closely with the Principal , the dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, and the entire school community.
"I recognise the vital role CNC Kilcormac plays in the local community and aim to strengthen and build upon the strong relationships between the school and its surroundings.
"I am also eager to advance the educational pathways and opportunities for CNC Kilcormac students and am excited about contributing to the school's future."
Coláiste Naomh Cormac principal, Victoria Guinan, said the staff and the whole school community were delighted to welcome Mark to Coláiste Naomh Cormac and looked forward to his contribution to the continued success of the school.
