Double milestone at Mountlucas Parkrun

It was a beautiful, sunny morning for Mountlucas parkrun at the weekend where both Sinéad Rigney and Rose McKenna reached the significant milestone of completing their 25th parkrun. Sinéad certainly made it a memorable one as she was the first person to complete the 5km course in a phenomenal time of just over 20 minutes. Sinéad is a keen sportsperson, regularly competing in road racing, as well as playing football and rugby. Sinéad's father Larry is also a very strong runner, having completed more than 600 marathons. Many will know Larry from his regular volunteer role marshaling at Mountlucas parkrun.

Rose was smiling brightly when she crossed the finish line with her friend Louise. Rose is a regular at Mounlucas parkrun since she began taking part in September of last year.

Five other participants at Mountlucas parkrun achieved a new personal best time at the weekend; Liam Gallagher, Conor North, Gavin McLachlan, Jenny Kiernan, and Aoife North. Congratulations one and all.

Mountlucas parkrun is a free weekly event aimed at both walkers and runners. It takes place at 9.30am at Mountlucas windfarm in Co Offaly. For more information see parkrun.ie/mountlucas
