Put on those dancing shoes in Killeigh!
Have you ever yearned to waltz, jive, fox trot, quick step or line dance? Well, if you live anywhere near Killeigh, now is the time to get those dancing shoes on and head to the new state of the art Killeigh Community Centre for a series of dance classes which will be getting underway next month.
Dance with Dolores classes, which also promise to improve your fitness levels, will begin in Killeigh Community Centre on Thursday, September 12, for six weeks only, and all those who wish to join are asked to turn up on the opening night.
Classes will take place from 8pm to 9.30pm each night and no dance partner is required to join in the fun. Each class costs €10 and will operate on a pay as you go basis.
Further information is available from Dolores at: 086 4518840.
Killeigh Community Centre is also the location for Art Classes for Adults which will commence on Monday, September 9 next, from 7pm to 8.30pm.
The six week Still Life and Painting Course, at which participants will learn the creative process of drawing and painting a still life, costs €80, which includes all art materials.
Anyone wishing to enrol in the art classes is asked to Whatsapp or text Kathleen at 086 6070218.
Keys for the new Killeigh Community Centre were handed over to the local development committee in May of this year, and the community facility has gone from strength to strength ever since.
The multi-million euro facility is the result of a major local voluntary effort which got underway around seven years ago.
Following a public procurement tendering process, local company Allen Kenny Construction Ltd was awarded the contract for the building of the community centre and moved on site in November 2022.
The vision for the centre is to provide a "sustainable secure, inclusive and accessible space that is valued and supported by the people in the locality and the wider community" according to their Facebook page, which can be found here
