Tullamore Tidy Towns "amazed" by support of local volunteers
Tullamore Tidy Towns Association conduct clean-ups of the town twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays and the group has said it's "amazed" by the voluntary support it receives and the amount of work being done.
Yesterday evening (Wednesday) the group's volunteers completed railing painting at Bridge Street and Kilcruttin along with another coat of paint to the Main Street entrance to the town park.
The large planters in the town park are a hive of activity with bees. The Junior volunteers helped out with a litter pick of the park collecting four bags and more of the park bins were washed.
Five pairs of volunteers took to the bypass to pick the litter revealed by the recent verge cutting and collected 15 bags of litter. Another group planted English Lavender in the planters at the bottom of the New Road. Work continues in the estates and streets around Tullamore.
The group meets every Wednesday at 7pm in Kilbride Plaza and Sunday morning at 8.30am on William St. Hi Vis workwear, brushes, tools, litter pickers and bags are provided.
