Picture starts to become clearer in Offaly elections
As tallies continue in the three local electoral areas in Offaly - a number of candidates now know their fate.
In Tullamore, Neil Feighery and Frank Moran are sure to be elected, based on the tallies, whilst there have been disappointing performances from Sinn Féin's Tim Farrell and the Green Party's Liam Walsh.
In Birr, Peter Ormond, John Clendennen and John Leahy are leading the pack, with an interesting battle expected for the final three seats.
In Edenderry, Eddie Fitzpatrick will undoubtedly top the poll and be elected at the first count. Independent Ireland's Fergus McDonnell is also likely to return to the council.
Fianna Fáil's newcomer, Claire Murray, is closely tied with sitting Fine Gael councillor Liam Quinn and the pair are 100 votes ahead of Cllr Noel Cribbin with one box left to be tallied.
