Strength and Conditioning Centre members at Mountlucas Parkrun

On Saturday members of the Strength and Conditioning Centre in Tullamore made the trip to Mountlucas to complete the parkrun at Bord na Móna windfarm. The Strength and Conditioning Centre is based in Cloncollig Commercial Park in Tullamore, helping people to achieve their health and fitness goals related to fat loss, toning up and feeling better and more confident. The facility caters for all types of fitness enthusiasts, including large groups and teams and runs a number of fitness classes including pilates and kettle bells.

The addition of the members from the Strength and Conditioning Centre added a great atmosphere to the parkrun, despite the cold and windy conditions. There were almost 70 runners and walkers on the day. International Women's day was also celebrated with many in attendance wearing pink or red to mark the day, and the male volunteers were out in force to support their female counterparts. On the day, Peter Brady, a Mountlucas parkrun regular also completed the parkrun. Peter recently completed his 250th parkrun - a phenomenal milestone. Well done Peter!

Parkrun is a free weekly timed 5km event for runners and walkers that takes place every Saturday morning at more than 2,000 locations in 23 countries across the world.

Mountlucas Parkrun is based at Bord na Móna Mountlucas Wind farm outside Daingean.
