54 adults in emergency accommodation in county

There were 54 adults accessing emergency accommodation in Offaly during the week January 22 to January 28, according to the Monthly Homelessness Report from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

The figures for the other midland counties are: Laois 29; Longford 17; and Westmeath 65, giving a total for the region of 165, of which 127 were Irish citizens.

A county breakdown for children is not provided, but there were 53 children across the four midland counties in emergency accommodation.

The figures were revealed in the Monthly Homeless Report for January published by the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien today.

Nationally, there were 9.504 adults and 4,027 in emergency accommodation during the week concerned.
