OFFline Film Festival to screen Gaza documentary in aid of Unicef Ireland
OFFline Film Festival will host a charity screening of the award-winning documentary, GAZA, on Thursday, December 28 at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre at 8pm.
All of the proceeds raised on the night will go directly to Unicef Ireland as they continue to send vital aid to the children of Gaza and the wider state of Palestine. At least 5,350 children in Gaza have been killed, while over 8,663 children have been injured as a result of the current conflict.
Frequently labeled as the world’s largest open-air prison, this documentary by Irish filmmakers Garry Keane and Andrew McConnell is a beautiful portrait of everyday Gazan citizens, leading meaningful lives beyond the rubble of perennial conflict.
According to Galway Film Fleadh, the documentary depicts a people plagued by conflict but not defined by it, painting a tender portrait of a beleaguered humanity.
Tickets to view the screening cost €10 and can be purchased on www.offlinefilmfestival.com.
