Midland Madness comedy night in Athlone
Fancy some laughter and entertainment in run-up to Christmas? Well, if the answer is yes, then Seomra Spraoi has just the thing for you with a third edition of 'Midland Madness Comedy' in The Brazen Monkey on Friday, December 22 next at 8.30pm.
Featuring the best of up and coming comics, the bill includes Athlone resident Alex George, a native of Siberia, who has a regular podcast series, Kat O'Hanlon from Mullingar and Longford's Maggi McKenna.
MC on the night and organiser of the comedy night is Cillian Mac Gabhann, who has been doing stand-up for seven or eight years now. Although originally from Mullingar, Cillian has been living in Athlone for more than a year and is a volunteer with Athlone Community Radio.
The comic has been making it his mission to bring comedy nights to towns all over Ireland, and his first Midland Madness show in Athlone in April was a sell-out, which was followed by another successful event in June.
Over the summer he organised sell-out shows in Westport, Ennis and Monaghan among others.
Describing his events as Ireland's leading travelling comedy show, Cillian is appealing to people to come along and support up and coming comedians live in Athlone on December 22.
"We're promising fun, laughter and lots of entertainment in the run-up to Christmas," he said.
"All of the comedians are different genres and comedy styles which gives the show more variety. There's everything from storytelling to deadpan punchlines," Cillian explains.
There will also be complimentary snacks on the night.
Tickets are just €10 from Eventbrite.
