Construction underway on pedestrian bridge
Construction is underway on a new pedestrian bridge in Spollanstown and the council is working with Irish Rail to arrange the best times for upcoming road closures.
Cathaoirleach of Tullamore Municipal District Cllr Declan Harvey said that it will be a "welcome addition to the town and to the people of Spollanstown". He said the bridge will make walking there “a lot safer” for pedestrians.
Cllr Harvey highlighted that many schoolgoing children and local residents would benefit from the new pedestrian bridge.
It is being funded as part of a regeneration project for roads in Offaly. The new bridge will along the side of the railway bridge just after the Tullamore Court Hotel.
