Housing plan for Kilbeggan

A residential development of 13 units is planned for Kilbeggan, according to the latest planning lists.

Lambe Bros has submitted a proposal to Westmeath County Council seeking approval to construct the new homes on a 0.50 hectare site on the Tullamore Road in the town, with the primary vehicular and pedestrian access to the development off the existing residential development at The Gallops.

The plan comprises of a total of 13 housing units, made up of nine three bed townhouses and four three bed semi-detached homes, 25 car parking spaces and 0.10 hectare of open space.

The proposal also includes all associated hard and soft landscaping, boundary treatments, footpaths and all other ancillary works.

November 11 is listed as the decision date for the Kilbeggan housing plan by the local authority.

Meanwhile, the IDA has applied for planning approval to extend the existing internal footpath and cycle lane within IDA Athlone Business and Technology Park in Athlone.

The extension will be through IDA-owned lands towards the Old Rail Trail Greenway to the north of the site. The proposed footpath and cycle lane would terminate at the IDA site boundary and allow future connection to the greenway.

The development will include installation of signage, public lighting and all associated services and site works to facilitate the development, according to the plans lodged on September 25.

Westmeath County Council is due to announce a decision by November 19 next.
