Revamp of Ballycommon centre site revealed
Ballycommon Organisation for Local Development (BOLD) recently unveiled its latest site enhancement works at Ballycommon Telework and Training Centre.
The local organisation has been involved in numerous community projects over the past 24 years. This latest project has greatly enhanced the original site, comprising of drainage and laying of tar and chip together with soft landscaping, including seven flower boxes at the front, a picnic area and flower beds at the side of the building.
A first-class job was carried out by local company, MacDe Construction and the many flowers and shrubs were also locally sourced from Annette at Daingean Nursery. The committee would like to acknowledge all the hard work of Committee member Mary O’Connor who undertook the project from beginning to end. Without Mary’s commitment this project would not have been successfully completed.
Funding for this project was sourced from Edenderry Municipal District Council and Offaly Local Development Clg. Matching funding was provided by Ballycommon Organisation for Local Development.
BOLD would like to acknowledge the input of Cllr Noel Cribbin, Chairperson, Edenderry Municipal District Council and local Cllr Liam Quinn together with Roisin Lennon and Cormac Mahon of Offaly Local Development.
The group has a longstanding relationship with Edenderry Municipal District Council, Offaly Local Development, Offaly Co Council, HSE and LCDC. These organisations have continued to be sources of support and funding throughout the years.
