Offaly man launches new range of Irish historical paint colours

An Offaly man is behind a new collection of Irish historical paints.

Nathaniel Clements from his studio in Birr, had joined forces with Joe Meaney of Kraftsmann Paint, to unveil an exceptional collection of paints under the brand name Clements & Moore.

This collaboration brings together the expertise of Nathaniel or Nat Clements, renowned for his work in decorative paint finishes and gilding for over 25 years, and Kraftsmann Paint' commitment to exceptional quality and innovation.

Drawing upon their deep understanding of paint and its diverse possibilities, Clements & Moore and Kraftsmann Paint have collaborated to create a bespoke collection of historical colours suitable for Irish homes and buildings. These colours have been meticulously chosen for their suitability in period homes and properties dating back to the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries in Ireland and colours matched exactly.

Every historical colour in the Clements & Moore collection has been meticulously recreated using ultra-premium, ultra-low VOC acrylic paint. The inspiration for these paints stems from iconic historical houses such as Birr Castle, Lissadell House, Castletown, Lough Rynn, and many others, ensuring a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary appeal.

Joe Meaney, founder of Kraftsmann said: “We are thrilled to link up with Nathaniel Clements, who is such a respected figure in the Irish restoration and interior design circles. It has been an amazing experience seeing him undertake extensive analysis and colour matching to preserve and revive the use of these historical paints. The collection showcases tried-and-tested colours that have stood the test of time and have been loved for centuries in Ireland. Kraftsmann Paint is very proud of it.”

Nathaniel Clements' Studio has an illustrious history, having undertaken prestigious projects throughout Europe in Germany, France, Italy, the UK, Portugal, Spain, and Ireland. With a specialisation in recreating historical paint schemes and developing contemporary finishes, the studio has adorned public buildings and private residences alike.

These paints, with their impeccable quality and stunning aesthetic, are set to captivate homeowners, interior designers, and restoration enthusiasts alike. Transforming any interior into a space of beauty, the Clements & Moore range by Kraftsmann Paint is a testament to the enduring legacy of Irish history.
