Heavy downpours expected on Friday as spot flooding warning issued
Heavy rain has been forecast for the Midlands and other parts of the country on Friday, with Met Éireann warning of potential spot flooding in certain areas.
A yellow-level rainfall warning has been issued for Offaly, Westmeath, and 17 other counties across the Midlands and Southern part of the country.
The weather warning comes into effect at 4pm on Friday and expires eight hours later, at midnight.
"Heavy rain with thundery downpours" will mean "difficult travelling conditions" and possible localised flooding, the forecasting service said.
Last month was the wettest July on record in Ireland.
