Community mourns after death of local man in road accident

The man who died in a road accident in the early hours of Saturday morning has been named locally as Aidan Farrell.

Aidan, from Clonaderig, Ballinahown, died on Saturday, August 12, following the tragic accident on the M6.

He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Angela. Aidan will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving father Tony, brothers, Damian and Alan, sisters, Fiona Gannon (Doon) and Sandra Hamm (Mount Temple), his loving partner Natasha, nieces, and nephews, Calvin, Danielle, Kellie, Emma, Rachel, Ella, Jamie, Seána and Rory, brothers-in-law, Leo and John, sisters-in-law, Bernie and Sarah, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, neighbours, and many friends.

Aidan will repose at his home in Clonaderig on Monday evening from 6pm to 8pm and again on Tuesday evening from 5pm to 8pm.

Removal on Wednesday morning to St. Colmcille's Church, Ballinahown where his Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11am.

Interment afterwards in Clonmacnois.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances of the fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the M6 motorway, between the Tullamore and Moate exits in the early hours of Saturday morning, at approximately 4.45am.

A male pedestrian was fatally injured as a result of a collision with a truck.
