Tullamore Show entries reported to be on par with record levels

Entries have flooded in from around the country in all sections, with overall numbers comparable to 2022.

With the introduction of the new sheep breeds Lanark and Swaledale, sheep numbers have increased beyond all records with over 920 entries, as have entries for the commercial cattle section.

The Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show takes place on Sunday, August 13, at the Butterfield Estate, Blueball.

Exhibitors and spectators are hungry to return to shows and it is evident with the bulging entries in most sections and huge number of spectators attending shows held so far this show season.

The crème de le crème livestock from the commercial, pedigree, dairy, and sheep categories converge at the Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show, competing for prestigious accolades such as rosettes and gold and silver medals. This sought-after recognition immediately enhances the worth of their livestock, and the upcoming year of 2023 promises nothing less.

The Inaugural Sustainable Livestock Village will provide a platform for farmers to learn more about practices that can boost the sustainable performance on their farms, and on the day there will be a presentation of sustainable farmers awards which are been run by Bord Bia, Teagasc and the Farmers Journal.

Tullamore Show is the perfect family day out with something of interest for everyone whether it is the spectators looking in awe at those amazing livestock or the wonderful cakes and breads, stunning patchwork quilts, paintings or viewing the alpacas, Highland cattle or the beautiful Valais Blacknose sheep.

Entries will be accepted on the day for the following sections

Cookery; Crafts; Horticulture; Art and Photography; Equine Section; Dog Section
