Investigations continue into two-car crash on Geashill road
Investigations are continuing into the cause of a road traffic accident in Offaly yesterday morning (Monday) which resulted in four people being conveyed to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a collision between two vehicles on the Ballinagar to Geashill road at approximately 8:20am yesterday morning.
All four occupants of the two cars, two males in their 20s who were in one car, and two females in their 50s & 80s who were the driver and passenger in the second car, were conveyed to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to a statement issued by the Garda Press Office, the injuries sustained by one of the female passengers "are understood to be serious."
The road where the collision occurred was closed for most of the day as forensic investigators and the emergency services carried out their work, but has since reopened to traffic.
