Minister to launch new bog tourism concept in Offaly
Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys will visit Offaly tomorrow (Wednesday) where she will launch a new initiative designed to develop recreational facilities on Irish bogs.
The strategic partnership between the Department of Rural and Community Development and Bord na Móna aims to boost tourism and support local economies, particularly in the Midlands.
The Minister will also officially open a number of projects funded under the Government’s five year rural development policy, Our Rural Future.
These include the Ballycommon to Kilbeggan greenway link and the Clara Town to Clara Life Bog Project.
She will also officially open the Croghan Community Centre extension and works in Mucklagh and Birr.
