Mount Lucas parkrun regular celebrates 100th run

Michael Kearney, a Mount Lucas regular celebrated his 100th run on Saturday last.

He was joined by his son Dennis and daughter Michelle who supported him along the way. The 100th milestone is all the more impressive in that Michael completed his first parkrun on the day Mount Lucas parkrun celebrated its 100th run.

The rain just about held off for Mount Lucas parkrun number 214 with 70 people taking part and volunteering, along with two dogs.

Parkrun is a free weekly timed 5k event for runners and walkers that takes place every Saturday morning at more than 2,000 locations in 23 Countries across the world.

Mount Lucas Parkrun is based at Mount Lucas Wind farm outside Daingean, so why not turn up at 9.30am on Saturday morning to see what it is all about.
