Loyal volunteer marks milestone at Parkrun

This week 55 people ran, jogged and walked the Mountlucas Park Run course, of whom nine were first timers and four recorded new Personal Bests. There were visitors from Henley-on-Thames and Plymouth in the UK, Lough Key parkrun in Roscommon and Grand Canal Way parkrun in Tullamore.

It was a morning of great celebration as Paul Palmer celebrated his 200th time to volunteer at Mountlucas parkrun. This was some achievement when one considers that last Saturday’s Mountlucas parkrun was only number 208.

He was joined by friends and parkrun participants to celebrate the special day.

Parkrun is a free weekly timed 5k event for runners and walkers that takes place every Saturday morning at more than 2,000 locations in 23 Countries across the world.

Mountlucas Parkrun is based at Mountlucas Wind farm outside Daingean, so why not turn up at 9.30 am on Saturday morning to see what it is all about.
