Kilbeggan singer to host Christmas event

Kilbeggan singer songwriter Larissa Tormey has announced a Christmas concert at Tuar Ard in Moate on December 2, when she’ll be joined by special guests James Kilbane and Rachel Goode.

The event – ‘In The Glow Of A Winter’s Eve’ – will also celebrate the forthcoming release of her Christmas single, an original co-write with Anthony Sullivan, which has the same name.

"This is a night I’m really looking forward to," said Larissa, "because a Christmas concert is something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time.

"We’ve been working on ideas for this since early in the year, so it’s exciting that we’ve finally been able to announce it and share the details with everyone."

Among the details that Larissa is most excited about are her guests on the night, James Kilbane and Rachel Goode.

"I’ve been a fan of James for many years, I just love his voice and the fact that there’s a very real, deep, and spiritual element to how he sings and performs. That is something that you can really get a sense of from James as a person as well, the depth of his spirit. I was delighted to be a guest of his on his ‘Rewind’ show on Shalom TV, which we filmed recently.

Larissa is a big fan of her other guest too. "I first heard Rachel sing when she was on Glór Tíre earlier this year, and she was a finalist in Eurosong as well. Her voice is glorious!

"And what I love about her talent is that she can reach a listener’s soul singing any kind of song.

"Having a voice like Rachel’s is something quite special. And like James, the wonderful thing about Rachel is that she has a heart and personality that match the beauty of her voice.

"It will be a pleasure to have Rachel as a guest for this concert, and a privilege to sing on the same stage as her."
