Expansion at Clara company approved

A Clara-based company specialising in cosmetics, fragrances, skincare and oral hygiene products sold worldwide has got the green light to expand its operations.

Europharma Concepts Ltd, based on Kilbeggan Road in the town, has got retention approval for phase one of a two-storey office extension to the side of the existing building.

Permission was also granted for two further extensions to the rear and side of existing warehouse facilities to be built in two phases at the plant.

A car parking area, car park entrance and site works are also part of the proposal, rubberstamped by Offaly County Council subject to compliance to eight separate planning conditions.

The plan was paused for a time in April after the local authority requested further information on the site layout, parking, landscaping and pedestrian/car links, which was supplied by the company in October allowing a final decision to be made.

Established in 2007, Europharma Concepts Ltd has the capacity to manufacture 30 million units of product a year, according to its website, and employs 120 people.

It added that the company's aim is “to positively disrupt the market with cutting-edge consumer-driven solutions both within Europe and internationally”.

Its brands are trusted and loved by global retailers including Selfridges, Waitrose, Brown Thomas, Arnotts, Beauty Bay adnd Cult Beauty, the website added.
