TUS Midlands to host online open evening on Springboard+ places
The Faculty of Continuing, Professional, Online and Distance Learning at TUS Midlands Campus is hosting an Online Open Evening on Wednesday, June 22, from 7pm – 9pm via Zoom.
The event focusing on the range of Free and Part-Funded programmes available via the Springboard+ and HCI initiatives is targeted specifically at adult learners (employed or unemployed). Prospective students will be able to gain an understanding of the array of academic programmes available to them in Business, Engineering, Software, Quality Management, Leadership.
Programmes ranging up to one-year duration and from level 6 through to level 9 – so for those interested in further learning, there definitely will be something that might encourage them back to acquire new skills.
Declan Doran, Business Development and Work Practice Co-ordinator, said: “This Free or Part-Funded Programme Information Evening Online is an event where lecturers will be available to answer any questions that you may have.”
Aimed at individuals who are currently in employment, returning to education or unemployed, the Springboard+ and HCI funded education programmes support learners to gain the requisite expertise and abilities to upskill or reskill in areas of regional and national importance. The Springboard+ programmes provides 100% funding for unemployed applicants while Level 6 Springboard programmes will be free to all successful candidates while level 7 - 9 receive 90% funding for employed applicants.
TUS is providing over 1300 opportunities through the Government’s Springboard+ Initiative.
The funding boost represents a strong vote of confidence in the industry focused programmes delivered in both the Midlands and Midwest region.
Michael Tobin Dean of the Faculty of Continuing, Online and Professional Learning at TUS Midlands said: “Given the changing nature of learning and the shift towards online learning, our Springboard+ and HCI programmes will be delivered in a flexible online format enabling us to have a national reach.
“We are continuing to move forward with our 100% online model of learning as it has proven to offer our student cohort the flexibility and autonomy to enjoy their study at their own pace using our online platform where lectures are recorded, should they not be able to make their online lecture on a particular evening.”
He added that TUS is currently working with a range of remote working hubs in the Midlands and beyond to develop its ‘Learning Gate’ concept where students can study and access their learning online locally.
