Spartacus retains "Best Boxing Club" in Offaly award for record 5th year!

Spartacus Boxing Club in Cloncollig retained its title of "Best Boxing Club" in Offaly for a record 5th year at the Offaly County Boxing Championships last weekend.

The Club, which was founded in 2012 by Ireland coach and Tullamore resident, Dmitry Dmitruk, has had a busy few weeks of competitive boxing.

Members recently travelled to Sallynoggin for the Michael Andrews Tournament where they won seven Gold and one Silver medal. The Club would like to wish the best of luck to Johnny McInerney who reached the final of the Michael Andrews Tournament but whose fight was postponed on the day and will be rescheduled at a later date.

There was yet more success for the Tullamore-based Club at the Offaly County Championships, as not only did they retain their Best Boxing Club trophy for the fifth year in a row, but they also won nine Gold medals and three Silver.

Gold medal winners were Martin Power, Tommy Mongan, Johnny McInerney, Martin Mongan, Davie Joyce, Davie McDonagh, Joe Joyce, JJ Gallagher and Christy Joyce.

Silver medals winners were Adam Delaney, Eridas Kuzmenko and Sarah Lynam.
