Edenderry guards thank public for help after man is charged with producing knife

Gardai in Edenderry have thanked the public for their assistance after they charged a man with producing a knife during a disturbance in a shopping area last Saturday.

In a social media post, An Garda Síochána in Laois Offaly said officers in Edenderry had been "investigating an incident where a male produced a knife during a disturbance on December 11, 2021, in a public shopping area."

The post went on to say that a male had now been "arrested and charged, and we would like to thank the public for their assistance in the matter."

The man was charged with possession of an offensive weapon under Section 9 of the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act, 1990 and 2009.
