Carol singing in Edenderry to support Gaelscoil campaign to upgrade grounds

The children of Gaelscoil Éadan Doire will be singing Christmas carols at the Town Hall, Edenderry on Saturday, December 18 from 10am.

The school wishes to extend an invite to the community to come join them and help support their fundraising campaign to upgrade the grounds of the Gaelscoil Éadan Doire.

This campaign is a joint effort between Gaelscoil Éadan Doire and its parent body, Coiste na dTuismitheoirí, to create a safe, functional, inclusive and fun space of integration for students living with autism, An Sáimhín Só and mainstream classes alike.

Our vision for the playground is one of a permanent fixture and base at lunch and break-times for our Sáimhín Só classes, while also promoting integration with mainstream classes and buddy systems.

It is our intention that we timetable all classes’ access to the playground weekly, as part of this initiative outside of break-times.

The school's specific classes for autistic children, Sáimhín Só, take their name from beautiful Irish language alliteration that describes a state of contentment, comfort and relaxation, a prime objective the school strives to obtain for all children at Gaelscoil Éadan Doire.
