Launch of new Offaly Tourism promotional videos
Offaly Tourism is delighted to announce the launch of the first-ever promotional tourism videos for Offaly. The videos were commissioned in 2020 but due to COVID restrictions, the filming was delayed until Spring 2021.
The four videos are focused around different target markets from connected families, footloose socialisers, culturally curious and great escapers. They showcase the best Offaly has to offer the potential visitors and include well-known visitor attractions such as Birr Castle Demesne, Tullamore Dew and Lough Boora Discovery Park. They also include lesser-known ‘Hidden Gems’ such as Croghan Hill, Kinnitty Pyramid and St Manchan’s Shrine.
"We are very excited in Offaly Tourism at the prospect of sharing these amazing videos to locals and potential visitors. It’s an opportune time to launch these new videos as the tourism and hospitality sector prepare for a full reopening. We are confident that the videos, which are lively and engaging, will resonate with potential visitors and be the stimulus for visiting our wonderful county. Offaly’s sites and attractions look amazing and we are ready to show the world what we have to offer," Offaly’s Tourism Officer Olive Farrelly said at the launch.
The first of the four promotional videos will launch this week and is focused on family fun and activities. The video is live on www.visitoffaly.ie and on the three Visit Offaly social media channels: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
"We would urge the local people to get behind the promotion of the videos and like and share on their own social media pages. Let’s be proud of what we have on our doorstep and join in our sharing our story," Ms. Farrelly added.
The video launch comes just after filming for other TV productions took place in Offaly in recent weeks including the US Travel TV Show ‘Ireland County by County, The TG4 music documentary ‘Fleadh 21’ and TG4’s 'Heartland' TV Series featuring Sharon Shannon who performed in Clonmacnoise and Shannonbridge.
