Open the door to this year"s Bealtaine Festival

This year"s Bealtaine Festival was launched in Rhode Parish Enterprise Centre on Wednesday to great anticipation. The Bealtaine Festival celebrates creativity in older age. Poet Michael Creagh was there to help launch this year"s festival of which the theme is "Go and Open the Door" as taken from the poem "The Door" by Miroslav Holub. "Go and open the door" is an invitation to try something new, to explore something creative this Bealtaine in recognition of the life enhancing joys of constant learning and our capacity for creativity at all stages of our lives. Offaly County Council, in conjunction with active retirement associations and voluntary groups throughout Offaly have organised a stimulating and enjoyable festival where there are golden opportunities to encounter the arts.
